Theft & Burglary
Theft insurance claims are becoming more and more common. Theft and burglary are often committed by someone in your local area. All it takes is about 15-30 minutes for the burglar to get in and take any cash, phones, electronics or jewellery that may be lying around. Sometimes, if you have been out for an entire evening, bigger items may also be stolen and your home may even be vandalised in the process.

We can help you with your theft and burglary claim
Having your home burgled or maliciously damaged can be a very distressing experience, not only because of the loss of your possessions and damage to your property but because of the feeling that someone you don’t know has been in your private home and has gone through your things. This can sometimes be harder to deal with than any damage or loss of possessions.
Fortunately, N.J. Carroll & Associates have been helping people with their theft and burglary claims for over 30 years and have a wealth of experience and knowledge in how to go about negotiating the best possible deal for you, the policyholder, with the insurance company.
Theft, burglary & malicious damage insurance claim assistance
The first port of call when you have been burgled is to call the guards and to not touch or dispose of anything as doing so may prejudice your position with the insurance company. You will also need a Garda Pulse Number or Crime Reference Number if you do intend to make a burglary, theft or malicious damage claim.
Making a list of what is missing or damaged is important when intending to make a claim for burglary or theft. Ideally, backing this list up with photographs and receipts will also be very helpful when submitting your claim. Down the line, you may also need to obtain repair or replacement estimates for some of the items damaged or stolen.
We understand the desire to get your home repaired as quickly as possible but it is always best to contact insurers first or else you may be paying for the repairs out of your own pocket.
